Icons have always been used in religion, politics, and culture. "Playing the Game" examines how modern icons, borrowed and created through video games and social media, can simplify the horrors of war, the complexity of spirituality, and allow individuals to live as their own avatars, transforming themselves into icons of worship through self -objectification. The game is the same as the game.
